| The Gearagh The Gearagh, which is 5 km from Macroom on the road to Inchigeela / Bantry, represents the remains of the last remaining Post-Glacial Alluvial Rain Forest found in Western Europe, which was formed at the end of the Ice Age . There are over one hundred species of flowers, plants and ferns to be found here. In 1987, the area was declared a statutory Nature Reserve under the Wildlife Act. |
